Politics and History are all around you. They shape the streets you walk down, the homes you live in, and even the water you drink. This three-day workshop combines the insights of Politics and History to help you understand the world around you at a time when it has never been more important to make sense of power, decision-making, and the social forces that shape our lives. Whether it’s climate change, the legacy of empire, international conflict, or the cost of living, this course will explore how past events and political choices continue to influence your daily life.
You’ll learn to think critically, debate ideas, and explore how both historical context and political action matter in tackling the biggest challenges of our time. The workshop is suitable for anyone interested in Politics, History, or the Humanities more broadly – whether you’re considering future study or just want to better understand the world we live in. No prior knowledge is assumed, and the sessions will be engaging, interactive, and thought-provoking for anyone who has ever wondered why governments act the way they do, how the past shapes the present, or who really holds power in society.
